Boys Room

Ben and I finished the boys' room last week, and here's the finished product:

The boys' bunkbeds.  When we told Wade he gets the top bunk, here's what he said,

Wade: Mommy, I can be like Buzz Lightyear and fly off the top of my ladder.
Me: Wade, if you jump off the top of your ladder and try to fly, you will surely break an arm.
Wade:  Don't worry Mommy, Papaw can fix it. (side note- Papaw is not a Dr.)

I just love that- the unfailing confidence in Papaw! :)  He can fix ANYTHING!

Wade's (and soon to be Henry's) chore chart

...the namesake of my blog...
I just love how this turned out.  Got it from UpperCase Living, and couldn't be more thrilled with it!

The 2 paintings hanging on the wall are painted by 2 of my school's 8th graders.  I asked them if they would paint an outer space themed painting, and I'd say they did a GREAT job.  I'm so happy with how they turned out.  I actually got another one to add to the collection the other day, but this pic was taken after I got it.  Thank you, girls!  You did an AWESOME job! :)

And they love it too! :)

Chuck E. Cheese

A recent e-mail from a friend of mine:

"Hey Staci- Alaina came home today from the sitters talking about how she wanted to go to Chuck E. Cheese.  Wade was telling her all about the fun he had when he went.  Let us know the next time you go."

Here it is:  WE HAVE NEVER BEEN TO CHUCK E CHEESE'S!!!
He made up this elaborate tale of how fun the games were, how good the food is, how awesome the mazes are... the whole 9 yards!  wow.

Well, here I'll add a sidebar-

Wade gets scared at night and doesn't sleep in his own bed.  I wake up around 11pm to a foot in my face or an elbow in my side.  One thought to this is- he won't be little for long, so I should cherish my snuggles with him.  And I do, there is nothing better than waking up and taking a few moments to snuggle before you have to get up for the morning- but, I really want him to start staying in his bed all night.

So, we are bribing him (no, I am not above the occasional bribe...) to sleep in his bed all night with a trip to visit the all mighty Mr. Cheese.  He has to sleep 5 nights in a row in his bed, and we'll take a trip to Chuck's.  The most he has made it was 2 nights.

Wade has also set up a lemonade stand at our garage sale to earn quarters for the games... but alas, the quarters have gone into his pig and won't come out until he reaches the 5th night!

We are going tonight to get the boys bunk beds... I'm hoping that might help????

I'll keep you posted...

My boys

So, now that you know the why's of this blog- let me take a minute to show you who is important in my life! :)

This is my main squeeze.  He's Ben, and he's mine :)

These are my boys-Wade and Henry.

Wade :) 3 yrs old- getting so big!

Henry :) 1 yr old- he's my mischievous little booger.

Life couldn't get any sweeter with these 3 boys in my life.  Love them! :)

P.S. another thing about me- I love, love, L.O.V.E. photography.  I wish I were better at it, but I'm still learning.  I took these myself... so it's a starting point! :)

To the Moon and Back

My family:
Ben-husband
Wade-3
Henry-1

I am forever telling them that I love them.  I will state it right here, in my very first blog, that I am very blessed, and happy in the life that I have been given! :)

The title of my blog comes from the saying Wade and I use with each other.  Here's our conversation:

Mommy- Guess how much I love you.
Wade- To the table and back
Mommy- Even more than that!
Wade- To the mailbox and back
Mommy- Even more than that!
Wade- To Mamaw and Papaw's house and back
Mommy- Even more than that!
Wade- To the moon and back!

The end points are always a little different- varying from grocery store and back... to... the toilet and back- whatever he sees or thinks of at that time is what he says.  Some of them are comical! :)

But it always ends the same... "to the moon and back."

And I do, with all my heart and everything that is me, I love my family... to the moon and back!

And now that I have my first post under my belt... I'm ready to go!  So, stay tuned.... :)
